Studio Groovy was founded in 2004 by the couple Yinnon & Danit Simhi
(Parents of Uma).
Yinnon (born 1972) graduated "Vital" school of design in 2001, and
has 9 years experience in model building. Today he also teaches in
the "The School of Arts and Technology" in Tel-Aviv and gives guest
lectures in various places.
Danit (born 1976) studied computers and has an impressive background
in the arts. Danit is a full time mother to Uma as well as an
integral part of Groovy’s team.
Art & Props
The studio provides unique solutions for art directors and
production companies from the Film, TV, Theater, Advertising
industries as well as Museums, Galleries and Exhibitions. The studio
accompanies the client from the first conceptual stage through
sketching, planning, choosing manufacturing technologies and
materials and to producing the final product.
The projects the studio carries out are varied as they are diverse
and include: set décor, different characters, food models,
reproducing various objects in many scales, sculpting and other
objects that are difficult finding. Lately, the studio specializes
in building scale models of historic or other buildings for the film
industry. The studio has a color department that specializes in
giving each model a unique look according to the clients demands
such as: artistic, realism or aged appearances.
Yinnon also works on film, advertising and TV sets as an assistant
and brings with him vast technical knowledge and the ability to find
on the job solutions.

Models & Prototypes
The studio provides model building services for designers,
entrepreneurs, product developers, students and others. The studio
accompanies the client from the first conceptual stage through
planning, technical/ design solutions and production of various
types of models such as: prototypes, feasibility models, small
batches and visual models. These models use a number of
technologies: conventional milling, CNC, 3-D printing, hard /
flexible molds, laser-cut, vacuum forming and more. In addition the
studio specializes in integration and working mechanisims.The studio
has a color & finish department in which it can create any type of
look for a model based on clients’ requirements. The colors that are
used are of best quality, and are durable industrial (car) paint.
Models produced by the studio include: medical devices, childrens
toys, furniture, lighting fixtures and many more.
In House Design
Studio Groovy designs and produces bespoke products that are
original and special to its clients. The products’ attributes can be
based on ready-mades and recyclable materials. They are inspired by
the 60's – 70's aesthetics, colorful and functional. The products
are mostly hand-made and carefully crafted within the studio.
Groovy products: siphon, sypholamp, sypholite, sipholux, syphovase,
bike table, rotary telephone, telephone vase, telephone opener,
place mat, moroccan table, paddle chair, scooter, wooden scooter,
record, hammer.
סטודיו Groovy הוקם בשנת 2004 ע"י בני הזוג דנית וינון שמחי (הורים
לאומה).
ינון (יליד 1972) בוגר המכללה לעיצוב "ויטל" ב- 2001 ובעל רקע של 9 שנים
בבניית מודלים. כיום מרצה קבוע ב" המכללה לחינוך לטכנולוגיה ולאומנויות"
בתל-אביב ומרצה אורח במקומות נוספים.
דנית (ילידת 1976) למדה מחשבים ובעלת רקע מגוון באומנויות. בנוסף להיותה
אמא במשרה מלאה היא חלק אינטגראלי מסטודיו גרובי.
ארט ופרופס
הסטודיו מספק פתרונות ייחודיים לארט דירקטורים וחברות הפקה מתחום הקולנוע,
הטלוויזיה, התיאטרון והפרסום כמו גם מוזיאונים, גלריות ותערוכות. הסטודיו
מלווה את הלקוח החל משלב הרעיון הראשוני, דרך שרטוט, תכנון, בחירת
טכנולוגיות הייצור וחומרי הגלם ועד לביצוע המוצר המוגמר.
הפרויקטים אותם הסטודיו מבצע הינם שונים ומגוונים וכוללים: תפאורות, דמויות
שונות, דגמי מזון, העתקת חפצים שונים בכל קנ"מ, פסלים וכל פריט אחר שאין
להשיגו.
לאחרונה מתמחה הסטודיו בבניית מק"טים של מבנים היסטוריים וחדשים המשמשים
לתעשיית הקולנוע.
לסטודיו מחלקת צבע המתמחה בהקניית מראה ייחודי לכל דגם ע"פ רצון הלקוח
כגון: צביעה אומנותית, ריאליזם, יישון ועוד.
בנוסף עובד ינון על סטים של קולנוע, פרסומות וקטלוגים כעוזר ארט ומביא אל
הסט בנוסף לידע טכני רחב גם כושר אלתור ופתרונות מקוריים בשטח.

מודלים ואבי טיפוס
הסטודיו מספק שירותי בניית מודלים למעצבים, יזמים, מפתחי מוצר, סטודנטים
ולכל דורש.
הסטודיו מלווה את הלקוח החל משלב הרעיון הראשוני דרך תכנון, מתן פתרונות
טכניים/ עיצוביים וייצור של מודלים מסוגים שונים כגון: מודלי היתכנות
עובדים, אבי טיפוס, סדרות קטנות ומודלים ויזואליים.
מודלים אלו נבנים במגוון רחב של טכנולוגיות כגון: שיבוב קונבנציונאלי,
שיבוב סי אנד סי, הדפסות תלת מימד, תבניות רכות וקשיחות, חיתוכי לייזר,
וואקום פורמינג ועוד. כמו כן מתמחה הסטודיו באינטגרציה ובמנגנונים עובדים.
לסטודיו מחלקת פיניש וצבע בה ניתן לשוות למודל כל סוג גימור ע"פ דרישת
הלקוח. הצבעים בהם הסטודיו משתמש הינם צבעי תעשיה (רכב) איכותיים ועמידים
ביותר.
המודלים אותם בונה הסטודיו הינם שונים ומגוונים וכוללים: ציוד רפואי, מוצרי
צריכה, צעצועי ילדים, ריהוט, גופי תאורה ועוד.
עיצוב תחת המותג "Groovy"
הסטודיו מעצב ומייצר מוצרים מקוריים בעיקר בסדרות קטנות או בודדים. אופי
המוצרים מורכב בבסיסו מרדי-מייד ומיחזור חומרים. ושואב את השראתו
מהאסתטיקה של שנות ה-60 וה-70, צבעוני עם קריצה אך גם פונקציונאלי. המוצרים
עשויים ברובם בעבודת יד וייצורם נעשה בד"כ בסטודיו.
כמו כן, מעצב הסטודיו פריטי עיצוב קונספטואליים לצרוך השתתפות בתערוכות
בארץ ובעולם, בגלריות ועוד.
